The FOG 2-22

Thanks to everybody who came to The Harbor Inn last Friday night. We had a great time! In the picture it is me, Vernon Bryder, Gary Poe and Bobby Perry. We call ourselves The FOG.
I have been very blessed in my musical career of some 38 years beginning with Middle school band. (I was so cool!!). I have had the incredible privilege of playing with a handful of very, very talented musicians. Back in 1981 I played with Rodney Harding on drums and Dave Wilson on guitar. They are both virtuoso musicians and brought me way up as a young bass player and vocalist. Weplayed a lot of Led Zepplin and Rush in those days.
Then came Julie's great uncle, Buck Sloane, who, in his mid 80's, is in the Western Swing Hall of Fame in OKC. I have learned over 26 years playing bass at uncle Buck's side to appreciate the beauty that is Traditional Western Swing. I am an honorary Buckshot of Buck Sloane and The Buckshots.
Now I have the great privilege of playing with these guys in The FOG! Just figuring up off the top of my head between those 3 there is at least 120 years of musical experience!! No wonder we are the ___ Old Guys.

Boat House construction 1.2

The boat house continues. Rchland Chambers Area Construction is proceeding very nicely. We had some rain, not enough, hope for more, which slowed everybody around at least a day. We are heading off to Las Vegas for the 40th annual RE/MAX International Convention. Yeah baby! The house building business is delayed for about 2 weeks due to me still redesigning the floor plan to fit on the lot and get us as close to the water as possible. While at the same time getting everything we want in this house. The shape of the lot has become a challenge when the wish list is pretty firm. I have to say we have pretty good water. The channel is more than 300 feet wide and the entire boathouse is only 90' out with more than 4 feet of water today. We are down about 4.25 feet today, check out the lake levels at.www. Tuesday Afternoon.....

Today they are putting the deck on the boathouse, very exciting it is getting closer.  Enough about that for today.  Buying a waterfront lot is full of anticipation of enjoying the water, boating,  fishing, swimming and seadooing (yes that is a word, look it up!).  Building the boathouse and then the house is also exciting working on plans, visualizing etc...  You must always make sure your dreams all fit on the lot.  I am in the process of re-drawing our house plans in order to make the house fit closer to the water.  The sad part is that this will delay us about a week.  The Shores ACC meets once a week on Wednesday.  It is now Tuesday afternoon, the real estate business is busy working with buyers and sellers and I have band practice with the FOG tonight.  The chances of getting the house plan ready for the meeting tomorrow is 0 to none but getting what you want is worth it!  Life is good!

Boathouse Construction

Yeah! Our boathouse is under construction!  Here are some shots from a couple of days ago.  Richland Chambers Area Construction is driving 27' steel pipe into the lake bed for the 'foundation' of the boat house. The retainer wall is mostly done and the boathouse itself will soon have a floor.  We have pretty good water depth right off the shoreline.  The lake is down about 4.25' today and we have right at 4 ' of water where they are working.  Tarrant Regional Water District is the governing authority for Richland Chambers Lake and all shoreline construction must be built to their specifications.  The regulations for shoreline improvements can be found on their website at:  TRWD.com/RichlandChambers .  You can also get to Tarrant Regional's site from our website at BuyRCLake.com/richland-chambers-lake-level.aspx

Richland Chambers LakeSide Dreaming

This is my new blog.  I intend to document our lives and business here at Richland Chambers Lake.  Julie and I opened RE/MAX LakeSide Dreams in January of 2009 and are both now focused on Richland Chambers Lake helping people everyday buy and sell real estate on and around the 3rd largest lake in Texas.  We have enjoyed great success in business and more importantly making lots of friends and becoming a part of the RC Lake community.  One thing I intend to keep up with in this blog (as I learn to use it) is the construction of our new home on the water in The Shores on Richland Chambers.  Right now, as I type, our boat house is under construction and very soon we will start on the house.  Sometimes my posts may be a little off the deep end, but hey somebody's got to go there.  You can find me on FB and at www.BuyRCLake.com   Let me know what you think

21+ Waterfront Acres on Richland Chambers

This is a picture on the way to a really great property on the Chambers arm of Richland Chambers lake.  It is 21 acres for sale with 750' of wide open water front.  The property has a water line in place, a great road bed from the "Old Ranch Road" and electricity on site.  The owner is ready to sell and is offering this at a great price.  I have all the details.  903-641-3359 john  See the video at www.BuyRCLake.com

The FOG

Right here on Richland Chambers Lake about a mile off of 287 right before the bridge is a place called The Harbor Inn. Most of the locals still call it "BullFrogs" which was it's name for the better part of the last decade. The place is a restaurant and bar right on the water. Kind of a quiet place during the week but definitely hopping on the weekends. Our band 'The FOG' (an acronym for something about old guys...) has a regular gig every 4th Friday of the month. This Friday 2-22 is the night. As always the band is vibrating with anticipation, looking forward to laying down some 'cast iron songs and torch ballads'. The food is good, we start at 7 so come on out and remember "For a good time call The FOG"
